What a week…

It’s been a big week. A lot of late nights, interstate travel, and far too much red wine!

One thing for certain is that as I am writing this, I know now more than ever why I have decided to start this journey. Why the focus on my health is so important to me.

Yes, I love to go out and socialise with friends and colleagues. And yes, I love a few wines too. Not every week will be like the last one, but when they are, I need to approach them differently. It is time to start putting myself first. Focus on my health and training. Why? Quite simply, I feel so much better after a run. I feel so much better after a good night’s sleep. I feel so much better when I eat good nutritious food.

I missed my planned long run this weekend as I was just too exhausted.

On a positive note, I did squeeze in a few short walks while in Sydney and a single 5km run midweek.

I am early on this ultra marathon journey. I have over 12 months to train and build my strength and stamina.

One step at a time.

Back to the Monday morning run tomorrow.
